Be First Chair
Musicians, shape how music is taught.
Matchspace Music is launching in the UK, inviting London's most aspirational young musicians to be its founding faces and shape how the next generation learns music. It's an invitation to build something from the ground up and lead it.

First Chair - a movement led by musicians.
In an orchestra, the first chair leads their section and sets the cues for everyone else. First Chair is the founding ambassador programme for Matchspace Music's UK launch. Matchspace Music is Switzerland's leading platform for music teachers to build their studio, be found, get paid and grow.
We're hand-picking a small group of London student musicians to launch it with us, spread the word among their peers, and shape what we build.
You know the world of a young musician from the inside, and that perspective is exactly what we need. As an ambassador, you'd help shape what we offer.
Switzerland's home for music teachers, now coming to the UK.
Since 2020 we have grown into Switzerland's largest platform for private music lessons, home to over 2,000 qualified teachers across 100+ instruments. We help teachers build a professional presence, get discovered by students, offer attractive lesson plans and packages, and handle the admin, so they can focus on teaching.
Now we are launching in the UK, starting with London. The First Chair programme is how we begin: founding ambassadors who help us introduce Matchspace to the community and get it right from day one.
Your First Chair contact.
"I'm a French clarinetist who believes music connects people. As a teacher, and part of the Matchspace Music team, I'll be your first point of contact in First Chair: here to welcome you, answer your questions and guide you through."

Musician, Teacher & Customer Success Specialist
Ambitious musicians, whatever you play.
A student or recent graduate of a London music school (we are starting conversations at RAM, RCM and Guildhall, and welcome ambitious musicians from across the city), in any discipline: strings, piano, voice, jazz, composition and beyond.
You care about teaching and want a say in how it evolves.
You are well-connected among your peers and comfortable starting conversations.
You want to build something, not just promote it.
What we ask - 4 hours a week ⏰
Around four hours a week during the founding phase, planned around your studies. In return: a paid honorarium, direct access to the founder, real influence over the product, and a founding-ambassador credit you keep.
From the founder.
"Our mission is to empower independent music teachers to thrive and spark the passion of lifelong music learning. We give musicians the tools to be found, get paid and grow, all in one place."
Patrick, Founder & CEO
